How do I pay for Stemble?
How you pay for Stemble depends on the setup chosen by your school or instructor. Some students pay directly in Stemble, some use an access code from their campus bookstore, and others have access covered by their institution.
When do I need to pay?
For courses where students pay for their own access, there is usually a grace period of about 4 weeks from the course start date. During this time, you can continue using Stemble before payment is due.
Your course may have a different payment deadline, so always use the payment due date shown in Stemble as your deadline.
Good to know: The grace period is based on your course start date, not the date you first join the course. If you join a course later, you may have less time before payment is due.
How can I pay?
The options available to you depend on your course.
Pay directly in Stemble
If your course allows online payment, you can pay directly through Stemble.
- Go to the Stemble Billing page at app.stemble.com/billing.
- Find the course you want to pay for and select Pay.
- Select Pay online and follow the steps to complete your payment.
Once your payment is processed, a receipt will be sent to the email address you entered during payment.
Use an access code from your bookstore
Some schools require students to purchase a Stemble access code through their campus bookstore. Stemble access codes are 20-character alphanumeric codes formatted like this:
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
To redeem your access code:
- Go to the Stemble Billing page at app.stemble.com/billing.
- Enter your code in the Access Code field.
- Follow the on-screen steps to redeem your access.
If your course uses bookstore-only payment, you won’t have the option to pay directly in Stemble.
Choose between an access code or in-app payment
Some courses offer both options. You can choose whichever works best for you:
- Access code: Purchase a code through your campus bookstore and redeem it in Stemble.
- Online payment: Pay directly through the Stemble Billing page.
What happens if I miss the payment due date?
You can still make your payment after the due date. If you don’t pay by the deadline, your access to course content will be temporarily deactivated, but your account information and all of the work you’ve completed will remain intact.
When you log in, you’ll see a banner reminding you to complete payment to regain access. Once your payment is complete, your course access will be fully restored.
What if my institution pays for Stemble?
Some institutions cover the full cost of Stemble for their students. If your course has institutional access, you won’t be asked to make a payment, and there’s nothing extra you need to do.
Just log in and use Stemble as usual.
What is on-campus access?
Some institutions provide free access when you use Stemble from eligible on-campus networks or facilities. If your institution offers this option, you may be able to use Stemble without purchasing access while connected from an eligible location.
Your access may change when you leave that network or location, depending on your institution’s setup.
Not sure which payment option applies to you?
Your available payment options will be shown in Stemble when you log in.
You can also check your course syllabus or ask your instructor if you’re unsure how your course handles payment.
