How to Pour and Measure Liquids
There are a few ways to work with liquids in Stemble simulations. The exact interaction depends on the equipment you’re using and the current step.
Pouring liquid into another container
In many simulations:
- Select the container holding the liquid.
- Look for green rings around the container you need to fill.
- Select that container.
- The simulation will zoom in so you can control the amount being added.
Use the keyboard arrow keys or the on-screen controls to adjust the volume.
Follow the guidance to see how much liquid you need.
What if I zoom out too soon?
No problem. You don’t need to restart.
If you haven’t added enough liquid yet, select the source container and destination again. You can continue from there.
Placing containers beside each other
Some simulations use a slightly different interaction.
Instead of pouring directly into another container, you may need to move one piece of equipment beside another first.
Follow the guidance and look for an orange placement indicator. Once the equipment is in the correct position, the simulation may automatically zoom in so you can continue.
Using a liquid flow slider
Some equipment uses a slider to control the flow of liquid. You’ll most commonly see this when working with a burette.
When a slider is available, make sure you’re zoomed out before trying to use it.
If you’re zoomed in:
- Press Enter, or
- Select Zoom Out.
Click and hold the position on the slider where you want the control to move. The flow of liquid will change based on the slider position.
The slider only appears during steps where it can be used.
