I Can’t Select or Move Equipment

Having trouble clicking, selecting, or moving something? A few quick checks usually get things moving again.

[H2] Check for blue rings

Move your cursor over the equipment or material you’re trying to select.

If blue rings appear, the object can be selected.

If you don’t see blue rings, check the current guidance. That object may not be available at this step.

Clear your current selection

Another object may already be selected.

Click an empty area of the simulation to clear your selection, then try again.

I selected something, but nothing happened

That doesn’t always mean something is wrong.

The simulation may be waiting for you to select another object.

For example, if you select an empty beaker, the next step may be to select the bottle containing the liquid you need.

Check the guidance to see what the simulation is asking you to do next.

Look for an orange placement

If equipment needs to be moved, an orange placement indicator should appear after you select it.

Select the orange placement to move the equipment there.

If it doesn’t appear, double-check the guidance and make sure you have the correct object selected.

Did the equipment move back on its own?

Sometimes equipment moves automatically during an animation.

If it was selected while this happened, you may need to reset the selection:

  1. Click an empty area of the simulation.
  2. Select the equipment again.
  3. Try moving it again.

Still stuck?

Try zooming in or repositioning the camera to make the equipment easier to select.

If the simulation itself seems frozen or unresponsive, check out My Simulation Is Slow, Frozen, or Not Loading.
